Ayo is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of long-standing repute and has served in various organizations as financial controller and loan syndicator for both offshore and local capital. Ayo’s working experience spans stints in accounting, finance, oil and gas and leasing beginning at Deloitte in 1991 where he qualified as a chartered accountant from where he joined Bouygues Engineering and Construction Company as senior accountant in 1997 and subsequently, Head of Procurement.
Between 2014 and 2016, Ayo served in the role of General Manager Finance and Compliance at the UK Group, Achilles Information Ltd; operator of the Nigeria Petroleum Exchange (NIPEX). His role involved ensuring the growth and profitability of the organization in addition to risk management and optimum liquidity.
Earlier in his career, Ayo served as the Group Financial Controller of premium leasing company, C&I leasing Plc, providing strategic financial control with supervision of the treasury, management accounting, and financial / statutory accounts. In this capacity, he successfully coordinated the issuance of a $12m offshore convertible loan stock in addition to raising an 8-billion-naira five-year debt instrument for institutional investors in the Nigeria capital market.
The role also included strengthening controls in the Treasury & finance area, providing various statutory and management reports, improving funding profile and capital efficiency. Ayo coordinated the issuance of a 12 Million dollars’ convertible loan stock in 2009 and the issuance of 8 billion naira bond in 2012 Ayo holds an M.Sc in Corporate Governance from Leeds Metropolitan University and a post graduate diploma in Management information system from the University of Ibadan. He is a Certified Risk and Compliance professional.
