PROJECT FINANCE & PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS

In Project Finance and Public-Private Partnerships, our services focus on the identification of bankable projects in the private and public sector for financing with offshore capital. Target projects are in the two sectors of oil and gas, and marine services. PPP financing focus on projects in infrastructure. Our services, therefore, include deal origination, financial arrangements, development of investment prospectus and market research, due diligence and public-private partnership arrangement.

Deal Origination

Our deal origination services involve the investment banking procedures of deal sourcing for both the buy-side and sell-side of investment prospects and relies on both internal designs and client proposals. It targets two critical sectors of the Nigerian economy where transactions are commonly denominated in foreign currency – oil and gas, and marine – as they both lend themselves to offshore financing. Moreover, it anchors on the opportunities served by the Nigeria Content Act, which promotes partnerships with sound foreign technical partners and provides financial leverage for deals it generates.

Offshore Financial Arrangements

Based on partnerships with global capital owners, investors, and sponsors, we arrange offshore project financing for bankable deals in the two sectors of oil and gas, and marine services providing for payback (capital and interest) recovery and exchange risks. Other risks we look to mitigate in our financial arrangements include political and market risks. Our key mitigation for these risks in financial arrangements hinge on primarily identifying deals that are heavily denominated in foreign currency – oil and gas, and marine –, export-related deals even if solely volumetric, and strong sponsor and technical support for deals; and for PPPs, political risk insurance with the involvement of multilaterals.

Market Research

Our market research and  design of investment prospectus  involves the development of initial proposals of deals-for-financing on behalf of clients and investment prospectus if deal scales through preliminary assessment. Our investment prospectus for clients covers four key areas of technical, economic, financial and political and employs experts from a diverse know-how community to establish. Clients may also develop their own investment prospectus and forward to us for financial arrangement.

Due Diligence

Our “Due diligence” services aim to identify and mitigate potential risks in projects in order to safeguard the project’s financial structure, funding and profitability; and involves a prediction of its performance, cash flow and remuneration. Due diligence covers the technical, market and financial dimensions of deals we broker and extends to procedures for management of environmental, social and political risks. Public Private Partnerships

Our Public Private Partnership arrangement focuses on infrastructure and accommodates proposals from both government and private sector parties for financing of concessions, take-overs and extensions.
